Our
instructors come from a variety of martial arts backgrounds.
The club's primary style is the Moo Duk Kwan branch of Tae Kwon Do,
although a number of other arts and traditions are represented within
the membership. Our chief instructor, Grand Master Jim Couch, has
over
forty years experience
in the martial arts and holds an 8th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do,
a
6th degree black belt in Hapkido, and a 1st degree black belt in Judo. The
club participates in open tournaments throughout the year and hosts
the annual St. Valentine's Day Classic every February. In
addition
to being extremely competitive in tournaments, students learn self
defense
and self discipline. We invite you to join us on Tuesday and
Thursday
evenings in the martial arts room (room #385) of the Ramsey
Center. Class hours are 8:30 - 10:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and
Thursdays. Open
practices are held on
Sundays
from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., also in the martial arts room.
